It is all Fate…

Have you ever been to a Police Station? At 3.00 a.m. in the morning! I had to…

It was a night few months ago… Some one was knocking the door at 3.00 a.m. The noise woke me up and my room mates as well. I was hoping that someone opens the door. But no one did. Even they might be thinking the same way as I did… at last I went and opened the door. I was staring with half eye opened at the person standing before me. He was asking me some thing and I was just saying mmm… mmm… mmm… All my room mates came near the door. His voice sounded clear now. I could even see his face. He is one among those who stay in the ground floor of the building where I stay.

“How many times should I ask you…? Whose vehicle is AP 9 AX 8642?” the person shouted.
“It is mine...” I said.
The guy said... “Police needs the owner of the vehicle to be at down stairs immediately now” and he left the place.

I ran to the balcony and peeped down. I saw two police men surrounded by people of the basthi (colony). They were staring at the second floor and signaled me to come down. I ran into the room, wore shirt that came into my hand and reached ground floor. My room mates also followed me (including my brother). Police constable gave me a bottle filled with petrol and asked me to pour that in my two wheeler’s petrol tank.

“What is this?” I asked him.
“Petrol of your bike, which thief tried to steal” the constable replied “Pour it in your bike and follow us to the station and give a complaint so that we can take the proper action”

I never been to police station which is one of the places I never wanted to go. It was my fate to be at station in such an odd time. I rode to the SR Nagar Police Station along with my room mate. I was accompanied by the two police men to the station. I parked my vehicle in the parking area which is before the station.

“What happened?” asked the constable sitting at the main gate.
“Petrol chori case” said the police person who accompanied us.
“Oh!! These people... mmm” said the person staring at us.
“NO… it was not us… it was from our vehicles” I said.

Our drowsy faces and the dressing would have made him to think so. We both entered the station and the inspector took a book (I thing it’s a complaint book) and asked the details. I gave my details and left the place immediately.

My neighbor explained the steal process. The thief bought few ThumsUp bottles which has a flower like base. He pulled out the petrol pipe and kept it inside the bottle and rested it on the gear rod. He leaves the place for a puff and comes back after a fixed amount of time by then the bottle will be filled. He takes another bottle, moves to some other bike and continues the same process till all the bottles are filled. He places all these bottles in the Bajaj scooter dickey and then gets vanished. But for this time, he was caught by our neighbors (bachelors) who were returning from their night shift.

Nothing happened from the police side… petrol chori went on and on… I fixed it with a petrol lock for my bike.

Hi Mohan,

In this world, every one has got his/her own perceptions to things they come across.

Some think, going to a police station, though we are at the initiating end; is somthing that we cannot share and bear. On religious front, some think ugly about visiting those places which are sacred to the concerned.

It is all a part in everyone's life. It is strange that, even though we experience such things for the first time, we fear that they may repeat and wish that the first time visit to be the last. We term it as 'Fate' - the contrary to fortune to which, we do not want to tune again.

It can be avoided only when people begin to think normally leaving the extremes and extending good streams. Well, that is why the saying comes into picture - "Udaaracharitaanam Vasudhekakutumbam" - Feel the whole world as your home and everyone as your family and you will see the difference.

All the best and take care.......

With thanks, regards and best wishes,
G.Srikanth.

Hey,
You said that your neighbors have caught the thief. Haven't they handed him to police?
